During my Florida Keys trip my uncle, who is a master scuba diver, took me under for my first dive!! He has been diving for over 35 years and I couldn't pick a better teacher! I only went down 10 feet but it's better than nothing!

When my Uncle first asked me about going under the surface I thought he was joking but inside I really hoped he wasn't! I could not have said yes fast enough. He started going over what to do, how to breathe, different hand signals we would use to communicate, and what to do if we came into contact with anything that lived in the ocean. I was taking it all in and told him I understood.
Once he was done quizzing me he had me put on my gear. He then had me breathe a few long breathe of oxygen so I knew what it would be like under the water. He went over how we would descend down the anchor line and then we were ready to get into the water.
We went off the back of the boat and I was in! I was officially starting my first dive! I had so many feelings and thoughts going through my body and mind. We went down 10 feet and were on our knees. I was breathing under water. I was in another world, one that wasn't my own but I wanted it to be. Out of the corner of my eye I saw something move, it was a shark and I was scared for a second but I knew my Uncle wouldn't let anything happen to me. We swam around for a little but it wasn't long enough.
When we finally ascending and got back on the boat I couldn't stop smiling, I had been waiting for this for two summers. My dream of diving had finally come true.
